Chad Ransom is a Improvement Coach at Ed Direction, working directly with education leaders to improve teaching and learning at scale. He is a former classroom teacher, instructional coach, building principal, and program administrator. In those roles, he created the first dual immersion program in his state, co-led school improvement efforts that resulted in two schools being labeled as “performing” after being labeled “failing,” and has been awarded multiple state and federal competitive grants. He was also a finalist for the WY PBS American Graduate Champions in 2015 for his work in supporting Latino student success.
Prior to joining Ed Direction, Chad worked as an independent education consultant for districts across the country and internationally. In that time, he has helped over 50 districts in their work to improve student achievement. He holds endorsements in leadership, ESL, and reading, as well as being a certified trainer for SIOP, SDAIE, DualU, and Loti. He has presented at the national conferences for WIDA, ASCD, Learning Forward, NABE, and NAGC. Chad also teaches in the University of Wyoming principal preparation program.
Chad loves books, sports, and culture–especially discovering new places. He has been to over 40 countries on 6 continents. When he’s not in schools, he’s probably planning his next adventure.
