Bridgette M. Marques is a Lead Improvement Specialist at Ed Direction, working directly with district leaders and local school leaders and teachers to improve student outcomes. Her work includes developing comprehensive school improvement plans that incorporate evidence-based instructional strategies in the classroom. In addition to implementing improvement plan strategies, Bridgette designs and facilitates professional development sessions grounded in teacher role play of best practices and the implementation of professional learning communities. Moreover, Bridgette works directly with instructional coaches to develop their capacity on effective coaching strategies to increase sustainability and the long-term impact on schools and districts.

Education & Career Highlights

Before joining Ed Direction, Bridgette was a special education teacher, elementary education teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal and most recently, an elementary school principal for six years. As a teacher, Bridgette was named Rookie Teacher of the Year and District Teacher of the Year. As a school leader, Bridgette was recognized as Assistant Principal of the Year. Additionally, as a principal, Bridgette’s school was named as a 2020 National Blue Ribbon School moving her state school ranking from 126th to 18th.

Bridgette earned her bachelor’s degree in special education from the College of Charleston, her Master’s in Elementary School Leadership from The Citadel, and her Ed.S from Valdosta State University in School Administration K-12. Currently, she is dedicated to using her experiences and expertise to support teachers and instructional leaders to implement classroom best practices to make a deep impact on student learning and outcomes.
