Intentional Teaching

We help teachers proactively plan, maximize student engagement, push their students to high levels of achievement, and measure their impact in instructionally relevant ways.

We do this by deliberately focusing on high-impact, proven strategies. These have been repeatedly identified through rigorous meta-analysis—combining results from many different studies to develop a single conclusion that has greater statistical power.

Effective Collaboration

Working collaboratively reminds all educators that their work is all about students and facilitates sharing knowledge and experience. Learning from all colleagues promotes a culture of inclusion and has been shown to translate into a more inclusive school culture for students, as well. Collaborative teacher teams that are committed to working together, sharing knowledge and increasing instructional coherence is an essential first step; however, without impactful actions that make their way into classrooms and into regular teacher practice, collaboration falls short of its potential to affect school change.

Inclusive Culture

A thriving school culture is marked by the team’s collective efficacy which encapsulates the collective way a team feels about their ability to have an impact in the lives of their students.  True Collective Efficacy involves helping all teachers and staff to recognize that the way they engage in their work has a substantial impact on student outcomes by prompting teachers and schools to employ a mindset that:

• Looks past outside factors (socio-economic status, prior knowledge, student motivation) associated with poor student progress
• Strives to make a difference in their students’ lives despite factors beyond the students’—or teachers’—control
• Creates a multiplier effect—all teachers implement and monitor to increase the effect size
• Emphasizes how teams work together to improve
