Joey Lee is the Director of Business Operations at Ed Direction / MGT. In this role, Joey leads the development and implementation of internal operational strategies that align with the organization’s overall vision and objectives. By identifying areas for improvement and creating action plans to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, Joey and team maximize the effect of external services on learner outcomes. Joey comes to this work with extensive experience in teaching and learning, policy, systems change, and business development.

Education & Career Highlights

Prior to Ed Direction, Joey supported schools and districts in the development of learner-led systems through strategic planning, capacity building, and technology integration. His career started in the classroom serving as an educator, instructional coach, and program director in southern New Hampshire. Joey also served as the Director of Education for a multinational global education organization. He was tasked with leading a team to deepen the learning experience of hundreds of thousands of students traveling the world while also identifying market needs and bringing new products and services to market.

His dedication to education is underscored by his role as the NH Teacher of the Year at the New Hampshire Department of Education. During this time, Joey represented New Hampshire educators in state-wide, regional, and national convenings, advised the NH State Board of Education on strategic initiatives and educational policy, and supported LEA leadership and credentialing universities in the attraction and retention of educators.

With an MEd in Educational Leadership from Plymouth State University and a BS in Social Science/SS Teacher Certification from the same institution, Joey aspires to impact the world for the better. His personal interests include reading, exercise, and a love for nature. His passion is helping to facilitate growth in learning communities, and he is driven to impact and inspire others to be compassionate, curious, and kind.
