Lance Bledsoe is an Improvement Specialist at Ed Direction. Lance works directly with classroom teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators to provide powerful learning experiences for all students. He has worked with teachers and school leaders in traditional public schools and early college high schools across North Carolina.
Before beginning his career in education, Lance was an engineer and computer programmer with IBM. Later, he taught high school math in a large suburban high school, where he earned Teacher of the Year honors. He has taught online math courses through the North Carolina Virtual Public School (NCVPS), and written science and math curricula for a homeschool curriculum company. He published his first book, “Flip Your Classroom, Then Flip It Again,” in 2015.
Education & Career Highlights
Lance earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and he holds a master’s degree in secondary math education from Wake Forest University.
Lance has trained and coached teachers in creating and implementing community-connected PBL experiences in a teacher professional development program (RootEd) in western North Carolina for the past six years.
He has also trained and coached CTE Instructional Facilitators in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools for the past five years.
